Known for her Performances in the Early Music field in Israel, She has appeared as a soloist with Orchestras and ensembles in Israel, Europe and the US with acclaimed Artists and conductors.

Michal Has recently performed as a soloist in  Conradi’s production “Aiadne” in the role of  Pasiphe  at the Amherst Music festival in the US, In Lully’s opera production “ Les fetes del’amour et de Bacchus” in the Perigord Music Festival in France and in concerts with ‘ Baroque en Val d’Allier. Performing at the ‘Flanders’ festival in Antwerp and the ‘Westwoche’ in Innsbruck.

On 2004 was invited to perform in a Gala concert in NY among soloists from The Metropolitan Opera. As a soloist she has performed in major festivals in Israel including:
The ‘Israel festival’, ‘Kol Ha musica ba galil Elyon’ festival, the ‘Abu-gosh’ festival, The ‘Yechiam’ festival and the “Eilat chamber orchestra’ Festival.

She appeared with various orchestras including: the ‘Symphonette Ra’anana orchestra’, The ‘Israel chamber orchestra’, the ‘Jerusalem Baroque’ Orchestra, the ‘Phoenix’ Ensemble including in the ‘Kolot’, ‘Antique’ and ‘Magic Baroque’ series.

 Particularly interested in Israeli Music repertoire she has recently worked and performed with Israeli composer Oded Zehavi in the premiere of “Tluliyot” in the ‘poet’s festival’ in Metula (2006) and in recordings of several of his works. She has performed in a few programs such as “ A light in your window” and the “Jewish Cabaret”  in collaboration with  the “ Atar” Trio.

Ms. Okon has completed her Vocal Performance degree under Miriam Meltzer and Marina Levit at the Jerusalem Rubin academy where she won the academy award of the baroque competition (2002). She obtained a B.Mus in Musicology from the Tel-Aviv University.

In addition  Michal has completed her vocal studies participating in international master classes in Israel, Europe and the Us working with Walter Berry, Nancy Argenta, Jill Feldman, Emma Kirkby, Howard Crook and others Participating regularly at the ‘Ivai’ opera workshops in Tel-aviv and the Jerusalem Early Music workshops.

Ms. Okon is a winner of the ‘America-Israel cultural foundation’ scholarship in the period between1998-2006 and a recipient of the ‘Spedidam’ scholarship in France. She has several recordings for the National radio and television programs.
Her performances vary with repertoire ranging from Early Music to contemporary music.
